Ireland is well known for its beautiful green meadows. There are a thousand shades of green in Ireland! Ireland is also very well known for its quiet orchards of fruits. Plums, peaches, pears, there are numerous orchards which help to enliven the Irish menu. Here is a recipe which celebrates the heart of Ireland!



1oz creme de menthe
1oz Irish Whiskey
1oz Pear liqueur
Champagne or sparkling wine

In a tall flute glass, pour in the Champagne about half way. Then add in the creme de menthe, pear liqueur and whiskey. The combination creates a lovely "soft" green color, just like the misty meadows of Ireland! It creates a minty, fruity flavor as well.

The official toast for Ireland is slainte - this means "to your health!"
