Kick your sangria up a notch with some delicious tequila and the orange-flavored Cointreau from France. This sangria is perfect with a bowl of nachos and salsa! You can use Rioja from Spain as the red wine if you want to be authentic. Other fruity wines that work well include Chianti and Shiraz.
1 wineglass chilled red wine
1 shot Cointreau
1/2 shot Patron tequila
Juice of 1/2 orange
Juice of 1 lime
Prepare a shaker with ice. Add in the red wine, Cointreau, tequila, orange and lime. Mix thoroughly. Then strain into a glass.
Garnish with an orange wheel. Enjoy!
To turn this into a party sangria recipe, there are usually four large glasses of wine in a 750ml bottle of wine. Simply multiply all ingredients by four and use a full bottle of wine in a large pitcher or bowl. Stir vigorously to simulate the mixing.
