Hudson River Valley
New York
Wines and Wineries

The Hudson River Valley is a gorgeous area of New York, steeped in tradition. Sleepy Hollow of the famous story is here; West Point Military Academy guards its banks. Locations of famous American Revolution battlesites are tucked behind every hill and stand of trees. Perhaps most importantly, though, the Hudson River Valley is a fine area for winemaking, and has the oldest continuously operating winery in America - Brotherhood Winery.

There are two wine trails in the Hudson River Valley. To the west of the river, the "Shawangunk Wine Trail" is named after a nearby mountain range. To the east there is the Dutchess Wine Trail.

If you're going for a trip to the Hudson River Valley region, be sure to print out this page and bring it along with you! There are a score of good wineries in this area, each deserving of a special trip. If you're going off-season, you might want to call ahead - not all are open year round.
