Wine Cork Trivet Instructions

I have many different versions of my wine cork trivet instructions online. This set is done with epoxy glue that comes in two separate containers that you have to hand mix. Note that because it's a royal pain (at least in my mind) to do all this mixing up, I decided not to bother with the "simple" felt part of the project with the epoxy. That is, I was going to use the standard easy-to-dispense Elmer's Ultimate Glue to make the felt base. Felt bases don't need special glue, while corks are the more challenging part to the trivet.

For this set, I went with a larger wooden rectangle that my darling boyfriend has cut out for me. This one is the 5 3/4" by 5 1/2" size. He cut them out of a quarter-inch hardwood. In addition to that I have the Ultimate Glue for the base, the two-part epoxy glue for the corks, and a piece of felt from the local craft store. They come in 9" x 12" sizes which is just perfect to go with this rectangle size.

For the corks, I chose to go with a 'wineries of New England' theme. It's fun to make cork boards on different themes if you can!

Now it's time for Step 2 - Wine Cork Trivet Instructions.
