Pest Control is coming tomorrow to spray. I took the birds to my mother's house tonite so they will not be in the home when pest control comes to spray. They say that small animals can be placed back in the home after two hours of spraying.

Do you think that is long enough for keets. Should I wait longer? They spray that has no odor, but I am still nervous to place them back at home immdeiately being that it is poison. What do people think I should do?

Personally I would wait 24-48 hours and make sure to ventilate the house well.

I agree with Cetan. Wait at least 24 hours and air out the house. I never trust "pet safe" or "animal safe" products to be bird safe. Birds are more sensitive than dogs, cats, hamsters, etc.

BTW, I had "odorless" pesticide sprayed in my apartment last month, but I could smell it hours later. I figure if I can smell chemicals, whatever's in the air could hurt my birds.

The smell was gone the next evening, so I brought my little feathered sweethearts back home then.

thank you everyone for the advice. I waited 24 hours and aired out the apartment. The birds are like babies, really sensitive. I think it is sweet in a way that the birds are so innocent because they are my babies.

Watch for any insects that die landing in their cage or crawling to it to eat seed. Like those mealy moth things. The birds could accidently eat them. We had a wild bird and we think maybe that is what killed it after spraying. We had raised it for months from a fledgling to the point of flying.

If spray dos't work you can get the services of of a famous pest removal company which is a better solution of this problem and these services are offered by the different companies in these days on cheap rates also.

Hello,
I thing you have to keep them at least 1 day apart from it so the environment of pest is getting quiet...
