Well, why are you a Christian?

That's a great place to start spiritual discussions. smile Why someone believes what they believe. And since this discussion is titled "Christianity," and you, thus far, at the only active Christian, the question seems fitting!

Thanks Nikki! I appreciate it smile

I am a Chrisitan because I grew up being taught about it. So from being a young girl, I learned that God is real. Now that I'm older, I still believe God is real, because I veiw all the faith that people have and I see that it's really something that is reality to me. Though, I did question it when I could understand it more and now I questioned it today, being totally out of order and I fealt hellish.I wasn't comfortable and I fealt like there was no meaning in life. Thats how I can determine that God is real, the difference between no faith, to faith. I am continually BEGGING God to help my faith to grow. I NEVER want to leave it's place and I want to be a Christian all my life. I have a feeling I will always. God wouldn't just do that to me, unless I chose it.

Also, I want to go to heaven and see God and His glory. I'm excited for that smile

Any other questions?

Yes, I read my bible slowly. So that I can catch what they are actually saying. I am currently studing Revelation.

He appeared to Mary, don't know where. Jesus met two men on the rode to Emmaus and he also met his disciples in Jerusalem, where Thomas didn't believe the two men who announced that Jesus was alive.
Let me ask you something mbas400. Were you once a christian?

Here was your original question. I have a question for you. Where you looking for conformation of the statement "God created us?"

If you were, are you needing some conformation of your belief in your religion? If this is what you are looking for I would suggest going to your youth pastor, your pastor or your parents for this conformation. I think that it is great that you feel like you have such a strong religious belief, but if it is shaken by people on this forum that you don't even know and don't know you, perhaps you should not engage in these discussions unless you are looking to really take an honest look at what you believe and why.

The title says "Religious Research" it does not mean Sunday School, it means taking an honest, reality based look at religions, all religions.

Please don't let this discussion group impact your faith, unless you are looking to question your faith.

Thank you BLR. I meant this to be for only christians. I wanted it to be only for that. frown I just wanted to hear other christian's opinion. I want a board for only christians, no other relgions. can't that happen?

Yeah, I don't want these conversations to disrupt my faith. So, I have decided to keep away from fighting for my faith for now. I am not ready and am too young in my spiritual life.

Starting to really ask questions about one's faith can be very scary. I can understand why 'liveforchrist' doesn't feel as ready for these conversations as she thought she was. I think that she is right to leave this part of the forum alone, until she is really ready for it. smile

This isn't a Christian board; it is a board for discussion of 'religious research'.

Posing 'controversial' questions about Christianity is not teasing or taunting, it is about looking seriously at Christian faith.

I don't think that MBAS has been impolite. He has simply asked questions about the truths of Christianity.

If you look up 'Christian forum' on google, you may find what you are looking for.

But this is an interesting and educational forum; I recommend that you return when you feel ready smile

Just as a PS.

I do know plenty of people, who were believers when they were very young and remained believers. Some are middle aged and some would be considered elderly.

Thank you PDM smile

Um, in my opinion, he was being a bit rude and i didn't appreciate it ok? You can have your opinion and beliefs and I can have mine.

Since I was a beginner here in the forums, I didn't know where I could go to post this subject. It was an accident smile

I was not rude, but if you continue to feel that way that's your problem. If if will make you feel better, I can start being rude.

What did you expect when you started this conversation? That everyone in the world believes as you do? Just because I don't believe what you do, does not make me rude. Just because I ask you pointed questions about your "faith" does not make me rude. Just because I have more experience in the world than you do does not make me rude.

You, the high school student, are the one being rude. You called me Satan.

Take the advice offered by PDM, go find yourself a nice Christian chat board where you can all sit around and tell each other how wonderful Jesus is. No one will be "rude" to you there.

But one day, when you are older and actually have something to worry about, perhaps you will realize what I and the other posters here have been talking about.

Until then, as I said before, never mind.
