Hello Nicolette & welcome You have posted under 'Christianity' and you ask why 'you believe that God created us', so I have to assume that this is addressed only to Christians. There are, of course, Christians on this forum, but there are also members of other faiths, those on their own spiritual paths, atheists and agnostics, so it will be interesting to see the replies that may be posted. May I ask why you are particularly interested in the Christian view on this subject? I agree that it is an interesting topic.

I must confess that I don't know how to put my forums in the right place But I very much love talking about God and his love and all sorts of things. I enjoy the scripture and love to memorize them. I like to hear what other people have to say. To be frank, I'm a fan of God and I truly try living for him every day. I want to imitate Jesus and not only by works, but by truth. I know that faith without deeds is dead, but deeds without faith is dead as well. So I don't want to lean on only ACTIONS, but TRUTH. That's why I use the name liveforchrist. It's my favorite username and it helps show that I'm in it for Christ. God made us for his glory (that's a fact) and he made us in his own image. One of my most favorite parts about it, is that He wanted to share His glory with us. Best of all, we christians get to see his glory in heaven and that in itself is amazing.

Hi again Your post is in the right place ~ in 'Religious Research'. You gave this thread the title 'Christianity' and then asked 'Why, do you believe that God created us?' so it would appear that you are asking Christians for their answer. You may, though, receive comments from non-Christians.

I'll begin .... I very much love talking about God and his love and all sorts of things. I enjoy discussing ideas relating to 'God', but from a different angle. I am agnostic, which means that I do not know whether or not God exists and I think that it is unlikely that we can know. However, although agnostics think this, many, like me, are also very interested in finding out more about the subject. I enjoy the scripture and love to memorize them. I like to hear what other people have to say. There are many discussions about aspects of the Bible on this site. To be frank, I'm a fan of God and I truly try living for him every day. I want to imitate Jesus and not only by works, but by truth. Super. You want to be a decent person and your faith helps you with this. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, which are to be respected. On a forum like this, though, you will find that not everyone will agree with your beliefs. Some will; some won't; some may be unsure. I know that faith without deeds is dead, but deeds without faith is dead as well. So I don't want to lean on only ACTIONS, but TRUTH. Certainly I agree with good deeds and good behaviour ~ with or without faith. That's why I use the name liveforchrist. It's my favorite username and it helps show that I'm in it for Christ. We have had many discussions about Jesus, the Christ ~ who he was; whether ot not he was Son of God / God incarnate; whether he truly existed, etc, etc. God made us for his glory (that's a fact) and he made us in his own image. Actually, Nicolette, that is a belief and / or an opinion. It is not a proven 'fact'. One of my most favorite parts about it, is that He wanted to share His glory with us. Best of all, we christians get to see his glory in heaven and that in itself is amazing. You may be right. I have no idea. This belief seems to suit you and I am pleased to hear how happy it makes you.

Welcome to the forums Nicolette/liveforChrist! Glad you found your way here. I do hope you stick around, we have fun conversations here. Love your avatar. You remind me of the high school me! Neopet webpage, on-fire Christian and all. How exciting! It's awesome to see you so impassioned to discuss what interests you and what drives you. If living for Jesus gives you a goal for life then I think that's great! Go for it, and keep sharing. You will find, however, on this forum not as many Christians as you might wish to see. Myself started as a Christian very much like yourself. It's been a long journey, but I no longer consider myself one. I bear the title atheist now. Just a warning when you use phrases like "we" Christians! But I very much love talking about God and his love and all sorts of things. I enjoy the scripture and love to memorize them. Many of us here do as well, just in different lights! =) I like to see this forum as how people in ancient times, particuarly Rabbis used to discuss the Bible. I recall one Rabbinic story where you have a group of Rabbis arguing and debating over a particular passage in the Bible. You then have Bat-Kol (the voice of God) interject in their discussion and add His opinion. The Rabbis stop, look up, pause, then continue debating amongst themselves what this new interpretation offered meant! It amuses me to think of myself and these forums doing the same sometimes. Which is fine! I'd think at least. Although I'm not fond of memorizing too much, never was, I'm a student of the Bible in college. And yes, doing so as an Atheist. So I can sympathize with many of your passions. I hope you passion brings you into higher education study, like mine did! But, I digress! Your topic question was/is: Why, do you believe that God created us Should I believe a God is in existence, I would think he created us to be. To live, explore, create, love, destroy, and whatever else we do that makes us human. Why else create us with all those tendencies? Ultimately, I can't really be sure. I would love to ask God some day myself if He would allow it!

Thank you very much I really do like compliments (who doesn't?) and yes, I enjoy the teen life. Although I find myself hoping for my future to come. But it already has I'm sure you have noticed that I like the gothic and emo styles. Sometimes I wear the style. You will find, however, on this forum not as many Christians as you might wish to see. Myself started as a Christian very much like yourself. It's been a long journey, but I no longer consider myself one. I bear the title atheist now. I [i]do[i] know that I won't be finding very many christians on these kinds of websites. I have always known that. I must say that it is very upsetting and it hurts me to see those who put God off like he is nothing. May I ask you why you call yourself an atheist? I understand atheists don't believe in God. Although I'm not fond of memorizing too much, never was, I'm a student of the Bible in college. And yes, doing so as an Atheist. So I can sympathize with many of your passions. I hope you passion brings you into higher education study, like mine did! To tell you, I am planning on going to bible college once I graduate. I'm looking forward to studying the bible and other such things, God willing. I might even meet some of my former friends. Should I believe a God is in existence, I would think he created us to be. To live, explore, create, love, destroy, and whatever else we do that makes us human. Why else create us with all those tendencies? Yes, some of what you say might be true (for I do not know ALL of why he created us and I'm not saying you are wrong. I just know that he did create us for his glory). I also believe he might have felt alone and wanted people to love and adore. Ultimately, I can't really be sure. I would love to ask God some day myself if He would allow it! I believe that in heaven, we will know all the mysteries. I think it says something like that in the scriptures.

Why, do you believe that God created us? I'd like to here your belief Who is to say that God created us? You might "believe" that God created us, which seems to work for you I guess. I might "believe" that a photograph would steal my soul. Or I might "believe" that thunder and lightning are signs of an angry God. Or I could "believe" that the Jesus story is a fraud perpetrated on a superstitious populace eager for a way out of their misery, handed down by a class of people eager to maintain power over ignorant masses, and distorted through the ages to where no one really knows what happened 2000 years ago. It's nice to hold beliefs.

You don't have to guess. You can just know that I am a christian. I also believe that ALOT of religions require faith, in which I have for God. My belief is that God is the only God and that he is the only truth. But, I am not disrespecting the fact that you question if God actually created us. What do you believe? I like to quote this verse from the Bible: Ephesians 4:26: One God and Father of all. Who is over all and through all and in all.

liveforChrist] May I ask you why you call yourself an atheist? I understand atheists don't believe in God. Long story! For that, I have to forward you here: http://www.wineintro.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/392388/1/Beginning_of_changeMy way too long and drawn out discussion of my "coming out." I answer such questions as why I call myself an Atheist there. Included are some tragic reactions by family members and plenty other drama and information. If you don't want to shift through the pages of information, I'd be more than happy to share through PM! I am planning on going to bible college once I graduate. That's awesome! I see that you live in Oregon, I'm not too familiar with the Bible colleges over there. If you'd like, I'd love to hear which you are considering. Either way, hope that turns out well for you. What do you plan on doing with the degree? Or are you going for a ministerial position? I just know that he did create us for his glory I wonder how you know this? I believe that in heaven, we will know all the mysteries. I think it says something like that in the scriptures Hm.. not so sure about that. But if you can find specific passages it'd be fun to discuss what they mean!
