Yes, from what I have read you don't want to take them out of the cage. Even if you have no intentions of taking them out of the cage I think a net is standard emergency equipment.

I have an even bigger cage that I had Tucky and Chick in till I got the huge cage, but I'm not sure he needs something so big yet. I have to keep him up really high, for some reason, Chowder thinks he's a snack.

PDM mentioned it, I looked it up, some are on the fence about it some are not, so I'll probably offer some every other week.

And Chowder is my 5 month old Ragdoll Kitten.

Make sure you have a nest and at least one swing. I have a swing in my finch's cage. He hates when I take out to clean it. They also loves to take baths, so make sure to a tub in the cage. Just make sure its VERY shallow.

I was thinking that canaries, since they are a member of the finch family did not hull it's seed before it ate it.

He's got a swing, I moved one over. The one that was in his cage was broken, lying at the bottom of it covered in bird poop.
