I love Northern Scotland ~ so beautiful, calm & relaxing!

Well, it was, last time I went there.

We used to go every year, twice per year, when I lived at home, but my husband is convinced that it is cold up there, so I have only been once since we were married.

I wish I could see Hawaii but with a flight that long i don't think so. I have heard it is stunning.

I do like Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, been twice and would go every winter if i had the money.

ya know, actually, I LOVE HAWAII... been there at least 7 times. BUT... i would LOVE to go back to Singapore for a relaxing vacation. (went while in the navy, so couldn't actually enjoy myself. lol) it is VERY pretty there too. and it is the LAW there to KEEP IT CLEAN!!! you litter = jail time. :o even if you spit gum on the ground and get caught. sheeesh, strict. wait a minute... what the heck is a vacation anyway??? i have never been on one... can someone tell me please? :D well i have never ACTUALLY been anywhere without my child longer than 2 nights. THAT IS NOT classified as a vacation. :D i take back what i said. it is TRUE, but, 'Singapore was once filled with restrictions such as this, but the country is gradually lifting these laws to encourage tourism.'
Bungee jumping is illegal. Why does this law exist? The sale of gum is prohibited. Why does this law exist? Homosexuals are not allowed to live in the country. Full text of the law. Oral sex is illegal unless it is used as a form of foreplay. Pornography is illegal. Full text of the law. As it is considered pornographic, you may not walk around your home nude. Full text of the law. Failure to flush a public toilet after use may result in very hefty fines. It is considered an offense to enter the country with cigarettes. Cigarettes are illegal at all public places. It is illegal to come within 50 meters of a pedestrian crossing marker on any street. If you are convicted of littering three times, you will have to clean the streets on Sundays with a bib on saying, “I am a litterer. It is illegal to pee in an elevator.
THIS IS REAL!!! anywayz..........next........

I always cross my legs in the elevator, tap my feet, and whistle a culturally sensitive tune. I know about play, but fore is what they call out in golf, right? That may be the country where they originally asked if "chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight." Some people should not walk anywhere nude. No rules about putting the toilet seat down? (probably they don't have toilet seats, oops... is that politically incorrect?)

These rules are just wrong on so many levels. I wonder which ones have been lifted? Man, if I keep writing, I am going to get into sooooo much trouble. I too darn opinionated.

Carl, I suppose I should stay away from Jamaica.<wink wink>

Sometimes I think that a "place" and the "atmosphere" or "attitude" there is so apppealing to you that you kind of adopt it as your comfort-zone persona - if that makes any sense. I know the Key West attitude is a laid-back, enjoy life, and don't be so uptight one. I suspect Jamaica is the same.

San Diego had so many places and styles that could be reached in about an hour - desert, beach, mountains, old world charm, metro shopping, you name it.

When we were in California, Marge had long desired to go to Carmel. Here we were:

I've been to San Diego and Santa Monica and it was beautiful.
Unfortunately, we were with our kids who at the time were 9, 9, and 14. Not the most pleasant way to travel. LOL
I went to South Beach for 3 days with my daughter, DIL and her family for the bachelorette party. It could have been lots of fun, but they are all very dull people. SOOOO, I never got to see the fun side of South Beach. I'd love to return and hit the fun spots. South Beach has amazing restaurants and night clubs. That's what it's all about for me.
Jamaica is all about fun. We go to an all-inclusive resort and it's all about the beach, delish drinks, jerk chicken, and partying at night. Ok, it's like spring break for the middle-aged. LOL
