So there are over seven hundred pages of topics, and i got thru ten before i gave up on finding information on travelling with parakeets. I bought a carrier with perches as well as the zip around exterior with the windows for insulation. They have been on one short car trip so far and seemed to do really well. I think i feel okay about car travel, and I would prefer to take them and their cage with me. What i am concerned about is that my in-laws live in Virgina, and we live in Illinois. Usually once a year we go out there for a good five days. I am willing to give my mother in law some money to buy a cage that we would use while we were out there...but do they allow people to carry parakeets onto planes? And, is the pressure change bad / the noise / vibrations bad for the birds?

Would it be better just to board them? We don't really have anyone around us that could care for them while we are gone in the way i would want them to be cared for.
