I recently bought my parakeets, I have read everything I could prior, However my cat still
managed to catch me off guard, and caught a tail feather through the cage, will it grow back? I have noticed now that my parakeet seems to pull at that area more. is this to be expected? should it be checked, i have read this could ruin her trust, she isn't tame yet how do i make her trust me now?

The cat should always be supervised when you have birds. Naturally the cat will atempt other agresion, that is what they do. The tail feather will probably grow back, the keet is just cleaning the area. Probably has a soar bum. If I ripped out one of your hairs on your head it would hurt and a tail feather has quite abit of pin to the end. It can be a while before it grows back.I'm glad you are researching information. That is a good thing. I wish more people would before they get a pet that they know nothing about. I respect that in you. Thank you for caring enough to get information on your keet. It really is a learning tool to have a printer. You can take alot of information and some you'll find the same answers and other may be different but at least you can come to a sensible decission on what might be the best for your keet. It's always a learning process. I breed keets around 15 yrs. ago and Took a refresher course to get my memory joged,so far so good! I print alot of information so I can refere to it if i get into a bind and it helps.

Yes, they will grow back. My female keet blueberry had some tail feathers pulled out (by my little brother, when he was 2, door doesn't have a lock, neither does cage) and they grew back, she was a little nervous around people, but is now as friendly as can be. laugh
Hope I helped! laugh

If you have noticed that your bird's tail feathers are coming out, this could be due to injury or a serious problem. Tail feather pulling is one of the most common injuries that occur in birds. Here you check this https://www.gznuocai.com/product/special-industry-uv-led-printer and get more new skills for small UV printers. Tail feathers pulled out is a common and painful problem. About a third of all birds will suffer from tail feathers pulling out at some point in their lifetime, although most recover within a few weeks.
