Both of the clinics said they see birds. I asked the one that said it would be OK to put them in the other room if they could ask the avian specialist to verify it but she just kinda brushed it off. Now maybe I made the mistake of asking "Do you see birds" instead of saying "do you have an avian specialist"

yep
so id start looking for a avian vet....seeing birds and actually knowing how to treat birds way different

as i said they are not trained in specifics of birds knowing disease and the like etc...very minimal training...thats why there is avian vets THEY deal with and know birds...

and they are hard to find ...and most have to travel aways to get to them but do a search anyway

this could help

There are very few avian certified vets in the country, if you cant find one near you I would suggest asking other bird owners near you who they use or would recommend. My vet is not an board avian certified vet but has years of bird experience and has birds herself and has been wonderful, especially when Mac needed emergency surgery. I am lucky because she is great with birds, another vet who is also good with birds and used to be in practice with my vet just opened an office near me, there are 2 more vets about 20 minutes away that a local avian rescue use and Dr O. who used to be the president of the Association of Avian Vets is only 1 hour away
