I've had my one lovebird for almost a year now and I just got a second baby one a few months back. I kept them seperated on two different floors of my house for the two months that I've had the new bird so it can get adjusted and now their two cages are side by side. It's been a couple weeks and I've tried to introduce them a few times and each time they go for eachothers feet or try to bite eachother. I don't know what to do. They're in seperate cages but they're still side by side and when they're in their cages they're perfectly fine with eachother and will sing to one another so I'm pretty confused

If it is like a "I wanna bite your toe off" kind of bite then they are not getting along all to well, if it is nibbling then it is just establishing a "pecking order" which means that they are establishing the dominate bird.My birds are still pecking at each others feet and they have been together for 5 months in the same cage.

some birds even if of the same species do have personality differences...this is normal...there is no guarantee that just becuz you get another bird they are going to like each other...in fact it can get very stressful instead of lovey dovey...

each has established their cage as THEIR territory and dont obviously want the other in it...

it has been well known in the past sometimes a THIRD cage that neither bird has ever been in is needed where no established territorial desputes will be the issue however, there is still no guarantee these birds like each other..or ever will in which case ten cages wouldnt make one bit of difference.

also id like to know what you did with the eggs that female was sitting on as i mentioned it was still way to early to remove them...and as kksuns pointed out ..this is not a first for you on this subject either.
