I haven't been on this forum in so long, but anyways. I just recently bought another lovebird(I already had one and she's around 11-12 months old) and this one is only two months old. I got him from the same place I got my other lovebird from but the thing is he's afraid of my hands. He flaps around his cage wildy to get away and I know enough to just back away and let him calm down. I haven't hand trained a bird in years, so I'm a little rusty. Any help?

heyyyyy yoshi...how ya been...good to see you...

are they housed together...or separate...it might be best for the new guy to be housed separate for training purposes...and remember slow and steady and at their pace never pushing their level of tolerance...

lovebirds are natural rascals and have no quam about letting you know they are superior to you giggle...but once they come around they can be little darlings...and some even houdini's

They've been housed separate since I got him, but I've let them have some closely watched play time. I re-read lisa's guide on how to finger train a bird and I think I'll do that. I'm just so used to my cuddly lovebird that I kind of rushed the training process on accident -whoops-
