Lisa Shea Forums Parakeets Health and Medical Issues are x-mas tress bad for keets?

I was wondering if x-mas trees are poisonous to parakeets. like firs and such.

well, i just googled it some places say that the SAP from evergreen trees can kill a keet, but the wood and needles are okay.

yes the sap can kill them..so can the wood...all in all NOT A GOOD IDEA for keets...then again NEITHER ARE THE ARTIFICIAL ones...dont want them to ingest any part of either...and watch out for poinsetters too...those are toxic...ya could say...the holidays for keets...are not a safe time...too many dangers
