Lisa Shea Forums Parakeets General Parakeet Chat My parakeet is lonely...

Last week my parakeet lily died :'(
Now I'm worried about my other keet. What if she's lonely? Pretty soon I'm probably gonna be transfering to a 4 yr college so I don't want to go adopt another keet. One of my friends has 2 parakeets so my question is, should I keep Ashlynn even tho she's just alone in my room and I'm gone all day or could I give her to my friend so she'll have to other keets to live with?

verrrrrry sorry about lily...keets are wonderful adjusting lil birds given time...just like when they first come home to you...it takes time...she will be fine if your gone all day many folks have to go to work or school also..this is the rare occasion when i would say give her a mirror...normally i dont like saying that when folks are around...in this case however, just buy her a mirror probably one with a little toy attached to it also...

if you give her to a friend she maybe miserable being the odd one out and trying to adjust to them or them to her and this may also cause BREEDING ISSUES which would be disaster more than likely so the issue is a simple one to solve ..

that and keep a radio on for her when your gone so she hears music also. Just if she is a she...dont give her any shreddy toys.
