so how long is average for a keet to adjust to their new surroundings? I imagine they woun't start acting like real birds (chewing on stuff, playing with toys, exploring new foods) until they are more comfortable so i'm just kinda curious how long it will be before I find out if they will play with and chew all the cool things i want to buy them;-)
this morning when i uncovered them i discovered my one whose sex i'm not sure of had spent the night sleeping on top of the loofa, which incidentally gave "it" the highest spot ever

All birds are different. One of mine took months to start playing with toys, while the other was outgoing, trusting, and playful as soon as I brought it home.

My bird started chirping the day after I brought her home, but she still hardly touches her toys after 2 weeks. She's also still cautious to only go to her food bowl when no one is within a yard of her cage, even though I've never opened her cage while she was eating.

I think they are like human babies too in the respect that tiny infants don't play with toys yet. They have to grow and their brain has to develop to the point where a toy tickles it. *S*

Those are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS PICS Love...sooooooo colorful nice calendar pic's they would make..i loveeeee them.

Sometimes its helpful for us humans to become more birdlike ..after all we know what they are about but they have no clue what we are about..and if young maybe even what they are suppose to do...so if we interact and become like a trained seal giggle...and show them how they are suppose to act they sometimes catch on...im so delicatly saying here we must become birdbrains ..chukle...happy chewing and happy playing ...and now that i got that visual...im soooooo outta here cracking up
