I had the same problem. I would let my male out and close the female in so he could eat in peace outside the cage. Eventually, he stood his ground a little. He will get tired of it and feel some things are worth fighting for. She wants to boss him not hurt him. If he is a good boy and listens he will be fine. He will get good at avoidance. The more she bonds the sweeter she will be to him.

You'll work into a routine. Try putting a towel down on the floor with toys and bird appropriate things to investigate. I have some hanging toys that they prefer to have on the floor and crawl over them.

She sounds like a Harlequin budgie I have! There is only one way I could stop her from terrorizing my other budgie..... I got a small twig and spanked her little butt everytime she atarted that mess. Now remember, you can't go crazy on hre b/c they have hollow, briitle bones! Just "tap" her on the butt and say, "NO!" so that she will know you don't like her behaviour. Trixie stopped acting so bad after I did this to her a few times. I hope this helps you out.

I find that 'punishment' quite alarming!
Budgies must not be 'spanked'.

Birdkrazie...I thought you were being sarcastic (or thought you were funny?) the first time you posted this advice. You train birds with positive reinforcement of good behavior and ignoring the rest. You gain their trust by being kind, not teaching them to be afraid of being hurt.

Don't hit your birds. They will NEVER forget & they only weigh one ounce, you can so easily hurt them.
