Hello fellow bird owners I am new to both this site and parakeets. I became an unexpected owner on saturday when a bird now known as alice flown into are yard...Im guessing she's still young coming from her eyes I would say 6-8 months. To make her happy (I think its a girl her cere is brown) I got 2nd one (Mr. Echo) whose a baby from a bin of budgies (less than 4 months)still to early to tell gender but from personality seems boyish...which worked out, they love each other. Just saying Hi and introducing us to the world of budgies and their owners haha

They are just beautiful. It looks like Alice might be in breeding mode. Is her cere (the part about her beak) kinda rough?

Mr Echo has beautiful coloring. An interesting site to look at age, color variations etc. is
www.budgieplace.com
you might check it out it is kind of a fun site. Full of information and pictures.

Ya its crusty. I thought so....she has her "female moments" haha but for the most part Mr. Echo likes her. She's bossy when it comes to food, I got two dishes for both food and water but they still squabble but its still new smile... And yes I checked it out but thanks for sharing....and yes we chose him partly bc of that and 2 because he's mellow

They're beautiful! I don't know if it was intentional or not, but their colors go together wonderfully. Congratulations on your new babies.
