Well, I suppose if it seems too good to be true, it is.

I started this company after putting in many years in the pet industry with reservations. The owners told me, this company is different. We are "Cruelty free" we have better standards...BLAH BLAH LIE BLAH LIE.

They sought ME out.

Ugh..What a mistake I have made. I shoudl have known better, and I feel like an idiot. I just wanted to be a part of something that was good! A pet store that educated and was responsible! It's not even possible.

So...Any tips on how to get an office job without much experience? I was a secretary when I was 18, that's about it.

I can't take this anymore.

What were you many years in the pet industry. What were the jobs you had there. Think in terms of talents that can be reapplyed to another field. ie. If you were in charge of purchasing, inventorying and thing like that.

Write down all your qualifications then see which ones fit another field. Don't forget that you are computer savy.

Do you mind sharing specifically what happened? What are they doing that is not cruelty free?

Hey thanks BLR...There is some relevant things, that I never really thought of before as relevant, Im just going to have to sit down and really think about it, than revamp my resume laugh

Jilly...This is actually a popular site, and I cannot be sure if there are co-workers or customers or bosses that may use this site, so I am not comfortable saying specifics. It's the internet, and as much as people like to think the internet is anonymous, it is not. It's the most public domain there is.

It was basically the same old pet shop stuff, just hidden way better.

I'm sorry this is much later than your post, but I might suggest signing on with a temp agency like Decca. Yes, they do charge you something when you get a job, but they are hunting for you. Also your temp job may turn into something more permanent and one more thing. Companies are really looking to temp agencies for employees now that the health ins program has gone in the crapper. My daughter went with Decca and ended up pemanently hired by Monsanto. Good luck. Are you good with organization? people skills? I'll bet you have lots of skills you aren't even thinking are important.
