I have a zebra finch. It so funny because sometime he'll act like my keets and won't go to sleep until my younger sister comes in the room to say good night. He's become part of the parakeets' flock.

as ive said a thousand times if i said it once...pet manufactorers are in the business of selling their products and will present it in such a way u want to buy sometimes feel compelled to buy even..i saw the same stuff in walmart for keets..NOT GOOD. Its all about money...packaging a product and a lot of hype that sounds wonderful is the end to that means. Its really sad as unknowning newbies..will feel they doing right thing.

Yep and the sad thing is most people are supposed to trust them to offer the correct products...blah.

Its not just the products its the overkill on what we feed ****each and everyday cuz we somewhere got brainwashed. Somewhere on one of these post someone got a new lil friend..gawd i get excited everytime i hear that as if it was me lol..anyway they heard it was good to feed wheatgerm oil..sighhhh...one comment to that ..YAH TO BREEDERS..its for breeding birds really. I cant understand when folks buy a fortified mix seed ..feed a pellet which is also *suppose to be fortified..then do something like veggies constantly and now someone wants to do wheatgerm and allllll the other little goodies we spoil them with and wonder why so many are laying eggs.....sighhhhhhhh. People ought to also check out whats called vitamintosis...an then think of alllllllllll the vitamins in the foods they are offering thru seed..pellets..veggies..maybe supplements in water..calcium ...mineral blocks......EGADSSSSSSS

Illusive Fantasy, I don't understand why you are giving these people such a hard time for not knowing things that you know. Also I've seen you on here, asking for advise, yourself. Would you have stayed very long if the members were to take your attitude? I probably wouldn't have.

I think that's one of the main reasons people join this forum: to learn about their parakeets. I know I did, and a lot of other members. And I DID learn a lot.

For the record, I do not agree with you regarding the feeding of budgies. Do you have links about this?

What do you feed YOUR birdies? Don't take all this wrong. I am just truly shocked, reading your post!
