Today as I was watching Yoshi she kept picking her left leg up and shaking it, then she would put it back down but she'd do it again a few seconds later. She is putting weight on her leg, and can still perch. She is playing, eating and moving around the cage. She is preening her leg but still goes back to shaking? it. I dont know how to explain it. She was fine last night when I put them to bed, and fine this morning before I went to school. Does anyone know what this might be?

hard to say... perhaps she bumped her foot or a toe was nibbled on a little harder than planned and it is irritating her. she doesn't sound ill, but i would watch for the usual symptoms and also that foot. if it seems to start hurting her more or she stops weight bearing, i would get ready for the ole car ride. sorry i can't help more. good luck.

She didn't do it as often today, actually she really didn't do it at all. But she would open and close her foot while it was on the perch.

Does she sit on the same perch, or not move a whole bunch(when she does it) I know i lift my legs and shake them when i stand (WORK) in a spot too long. OR she could have a annoying feather right where she cannot get it. Does she only do it on one perch? Maybe she doesnt like a texture of one

No, she does it wherever she goes to. She was sitting on the food cup and was doing it, and the rope perch. She also did it when I took her out on my finger to see if anything was wrong. It seems to have stopped though, i'll still keep an eye on her for a while.

I think she's just exercising/stretching her foot. I see mine do that every now and then too, kind of like they have a cramp in their foot or something and just need to flex their toes.

When she's perched on your finger is she gripping the same with both feet?

Could it be that she's scratching her belly or side? Or is there anything stuck in a toe or on the bottom of her foot?

It doesnt look like anything is in her foot. She started doing again today. Its not stretching, i've had them long enough to know the difference. Its more like a twitch in her foot. It's not broken because she will stand on that leg alone and will scratch with it, but she always goes back to twitching it. I compared both of her feet/nails and they both look the same. She grips the same with both feet and puts weight on both. I dont know what could be the problem.

How long has she been doing this?
If it doesn't go away within a week I would take her to an Avian Vet to be safe.
Does she eat an all seed diet? Is she overweight at all? If so, it could be a tumor pinching a nerve or something. Do you feel any lumps or anything in the area?
Do you use sand or sandpaper perches? Does she have any sores or red spots on the bottom of her feet?
Are there any pins around her leg (is she molting)? Does she have a breeder band on that leg? Either could be irritating her.
Hoepfully she is just stretching and it goes away.
