Lisa Shea Forums Parakeets General Parakeet Chat Oh boy, they discovered toilet paper

Ok, so, I let my birds out to play in the bathroom, pretty much everyday because the cats are in the living quarters. Anyway, I make sure there is no place they can get stuck, I block the sink, I have another cage on the toilet bowl that they climb up on, and they are safe, so, don't worry about that...plus I check on them all the time.

Yesterday, I go in to check on them and they have unrolled the toilet paper and shredded it all over the floor....like one was on top rolling it and the other was below shredding it...cheeky birds...I am spying on them today to see if I can catch them in the act.

OH that sounds funny! If you get lucky enough to get pictures i would love to see them! I would be suprised if they could leave it alone now that they seen how tearable and fun it is!

I keep going in to check, but no luck so far.

HI I havent posted in a while but I had to take a peek at this funny post.
I wanted to warn you that the birds can get crop impact if they chew on the tp too much. It is dry and sucks up all the saliva in their mouth. It goes down as little balls of fiber that never digests. My Marina died from chewing too much paper towels...
Other than that; playtime in the bathroom is my favorite too!
