I bought Nintendo's newest hand held system recently. The Nintendo DSi has a nice new feature that is a music player program. It not only plays your music, but it also lets you modify the music. You can also play and warp your own recordings with the built in microphone. Why did you post this in the Parakeet chat thread you ask? The music program is all run by a new mascot. This mascot is a small green parakeet. He chirps every time you poke/pet him and gives you some new advice on how to use the music system in new fun ways! When you're doing your own thing, playing music and messing around, he just kinda sits there, looks around, flaps his wings, and bobs his head. As if that wasn't enough, if you are in the general music program area, he picks up what you say and repeats it back to you in his own funny parakeet voice. He retains some words and phrases over time, so while he will just mimic you at first, he will eventually start going off on his own. While my fiancee has been attempting to teach it to say rude things, I have successfully sheltered the little guy...so far.

Good job Nintendo! This little guy alone was worth the money!

He is so cute! Even if it is only a video game parakeet. Is the DSI better then the DS?

I would say definitely! The only downside is that it no longer plays GBA games. The system is smaller, the screens are bigger, and it has 2 cameras now! The sound is great, it can play your songs, you can take pictures (if you look my parakeet's picture thread, you can see the pictures I took with it), and even play with them. There is a new DSi game store so you can download games. I can browse the internet from my DSi now! Even without headphones, the sound quality is excellent and strong. To top it all off, it has a new better texture! Fully worth the money.

It normally costs $169.99. If you trade in your DS at most places you get money off that too!

They have been having commercials on TV about trading in your ds lite at GameStop and getting 70 something dollars for it.
