I'm so sorry Helwa. I just can't believe this happened to you. I feel terrible for you and for Spartacus.

the worse part is that he was so young, and perfectly healthy other than a tiny tumor in his brain

Helwa i am sorry for your loss, but as a Muslim, listening to you say that you don't like your own kind, you are making a fool of yourself. I am sorry to even say that but it's a fact.

I agree with whoever said "COOK IT AND EAT IT!!" WAS REALLY CRUEL. But that's the human in them, why would you blame it on a MUSLIM? I haven't done anything to you or even know you but you just included me in that category. and I think that's Cruel on your part...sorry if that hurts, but it hurt me to read a fellow sister would say that.

As for your bird, I am really sorry, that you had to go through that, I exactly know the feeling, your heart just pops out of your body, when you see something like that for someone you love.

my suggestion would be if your birds are tame, take them all out, and soap and bleach the whole cage and let it air dry. and use clorox anywhere bleach on the toys. I know everyone says the chemicals are blah blah blah. but I am not telling you to do that every day. just ones a thorough rinse. you can use anything with keets that you use with your own kids. and nothing happens to them InshAllah. wish you and pray for you. best of wishes.

I'm at work right now typing from my iPod. So I'll reply more later. But I will say this... It's a fact that Muslims are divided and rarely support each other in the good . This is a huge problem , the outright disconcern for a fellows Muslim even though there are many Hadith obligating us to do such. I didn't slam Islam and made it clear I love my religion but the people are almost always a let down. If you aren't that kind of Muslim then it doesn't apply to you and you would be a rarity.

Helwa, I am really sorry about your pet birds.

When people are upset, they may say things they otherwise wouldn't.

I'm guessing that if it were me who had made the comment about Muslims, you would be hammering me now, so, no negative generalisations, ok smile

This isn't the place for such comments, is it?

it seems i cant say anything at all !!!! while i should be getting some love for my bird dying i am being hit left rand right on this forum !!!

pdm ... if you said that muslims arent united and that they lack respect for each other and rarely support each other then i would whole heartedly agree with you !!!

and there is a serious difference between me criticizing my won people for something than someone else making extreme generalizations like calling them terrorists and so on .. but im sure that is wrong to say as well ... since i cant say a dang thing without being slammed.

ill just go mourn my bird by myself. what a useless place.

Aminah, I'm so sorry for your loss frown I remember when you lost Max and how hard it was for you...I know how it feels to lose one pet after the other too but I know that they are all together now and Max has a friend to keep him company up there. I wish the very best for you and your birds. I bet Max and Spartacus are watching over you right now smile

By the way I believe that you are entitled to your own opinion just like everyone else and we should all respect your feelings no matter what they may be smile We shouldn't judge each other about our thoughts or actions especially now when Aminah is so distraught over losing her beloved family member, I think it is cruel to rub things in her face like that. How would you feel if you lost someone or something close to you and people started correcting you about things you may say in your own opinion? We all have our own mind right? Were not robots. And were like a family on this forum so I think we should support Aminah in her time of need, not correct her or complain about things she said.

I agree completely! *Helwa you are one of the most helpful member on this site, you know things that I wouldn’t have thought of and you helped me from making some really bad(and potentially life threatening) mistakes to my keets. I wish you the best and hope you and your birds are doing better now. I believe your comment was not out of line, especially in your time of grief and made a comment like that.

This is neither rude, nor uncaring.
I am genuinely sorry when anyone loses a pet ~ we all know how very upsetting this can be.
Many people on this site go through, and are going through, very upsetting situations, at any time.
Rules are rules and no-one is exempt ~ we just have to try to understand each other.
I thought that I made the point as gently as I could.
