I'd say female too, if you look in the 2nd pic, the cere right between the nostrils it's turning crusty pinkish. and I would agree with helwa she's starting to come into breeding mode...

i would say the same, female. obviously a mature birdie. but who am i to talk... i have the same prob with loopy. again, mature bird, but goes from dark brown and rough,(female) smooths out and turns the most brilliant shade of blue.(male) this cycle repeats like clockwork. i say "she" but...? can budgies be hermaphrodites?

It's that blue part on the top that has me a tad unsure, and the vet isn't sure either. But, it has been changing, I think, and becoming more lavender and less blue. She's a young'un, but obviously not a baby, probably hitting the year mark soon. I think the name is stuck, regardless.
