a cheap cleaner would be apple cider vinegar and water, 2 parts water to 1 part apple cider vinegar, absolutely no other kind of vinegar is ok nor will it work, ACV is famous for its antibacterial properties.
I have read that distilled white vinegar is good for disinfecting cages and I do use it on my bird cage. It is non-toxic and a natural antibacterial, but should be left on a just
cleaned cage for 1/2 an hour with equal parts vinegar and hydrogen peroxide, then
thoroughly rinsed with warm water. DWV can also be used to disinfect counters, walls, floors, bathrooms, etc around birds. It has tested 99% effective on killing many types of bacteria.
I have also read that reed diffusers are toxic (didn't someone on this forum also say their bird died after they put out a diffuser?) and especially essential oils. I do not use either. I wash my bird's toys and cage with castille soap, but I make sure it does not contain any essential oils, which some of the Method soaps do.
