cecily is birdette is a seven month old female keet. she runs from place to place,but has never attempted to fly. could there be something wrong with her wings? also do all females lay eggs? and at what age should i expect that to happen?does breeding also occur at a certain age ?

Were her wings clipped when you first got her? If they've grown out, maybe she will practice flapping and then fly when she's ready... Do her wings look like those on other birds in pics on this forum? Does she do a normal wing stretch? Not where the flight feathers are extended but more like a hunch ----- hard to describe this -- I call it "angel keetie"! They pull their wings up high on their backs for a second, like if you were trying to get your shoulder blades to touch.

Sorry but I don't know if you have a male bird, too. If not, then Cecily may never lay eggs -- most unbred females do not, but some do.

As for breeding ages, I don't know -- generally the older the bird is, the better, and I think the suggested age is about a year old. You might want to read posts in the breeding section for more details.
