Welcome to the forum. No they are not too old to tame.

You may have to start with one at a time. You can take one at a time into a small safe room (ie bathroom) and work with it.

One of the things that you may want to do is either clip their wings or have them clipped. There is a thread with really good instructions for clipping their wings.

Since there are four of them and they haven't been socialized with humans it may be a slow go, but it can be done.

I will see if I can find the thread on wing clipping and bump it up for you.

Congratulations on your new keets - good luck.

There are a lot of people here who will be more than happy to help with answers to your questions and we love pictures. smile

You can upload photos on the photo gallery.

Otherwise, I think you have to put the photos on some photo site like photobucket, and then link it in - I don't remember how because I've never done it.

It will take you a while to train four never-tamed birds, but it can be done. BLR is right about training them one at a time, in a separate room. (If the bird you're working with can see the other birds, then he'll focus on getting back to them and won't pay attention to you.)

Be prepared for them to bite (possibly) or run away from your hands, and if they do this then DON'T take your hand away; just hold still and wait for them to calm down. If you take your hand away, then they learn that they can make you go away by biting or running - and you don't want that!

Have you been reading the training discussions here, or Lisa Shea's pages at her main parakeet site, or both?

BLR and Faith gave good advice smile
If you just got your birds they are probably still pretty scared. New home, being relocated, new humans and all. Talk to them in a quiet friendly voice ALOT. Every time you go near them or even from across the room say nice things to them. Same goes for when you are changing food/water, cleaning cage, or adding or removing toys. They will need time to get used to you and learn to trust that you're not out to hurt them. Give them a few days to get used to things. They're probably very scared. Then you might want to just hold your hand in their cage very still and keep talking to them. Just see how they react, don't try to touch them, see if any of them come to you.
Good luck! And welcome!
You can post pics by registering for an account at photobucket.com. It's free. Just upload your pics there and post them here. After you upload them you should resize them for posting here-go to edit, resize, and I think preset size medium is good? As for using pics for avatar or signature pic they have to be smaller but I don't remember the size limit. If you need further instructions just ask smile

They're all so pretty! Four at once! You ARE going to be busy LOL
Yeah, You're definitely going to need more stuff.ummm First of all how big is the cage? They should have a few more perches-different textures and sizes-like natural wood, rope,or maybe cement perch. They need dif textures/diameters to keep their feet healthy. Not sure about how many food/water dishes you need but definitely more than 1 of each,a cuttlebone, and a few toys/swing(s).
I only have 1 so others with multiple birds will have a better idea of how many of each thing you should have.
The fun part will be trying to put things in the cage if they're still really skittish.I think I would put just 1 or 2 things at a time and move slowly and talk nice while you're doing it, then let them get used to the new items for a while. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like too much too fast would freak them out.
I'm sure others will have more ideas to offer and maybe even links or suggestions where to find the best deals smile
It was sooo nice of you to take them in and give them a good home. And great that you are looking into what they need to be happy and healthy. 2 thumbs up to you!

Oh, there is always hope! LOL
Really, sounds like you are making progress.Just keep talking to them whenever you go by. Take it slow and they'll start to trust you.
