Did you just get a new keet? If so congrats..Well, my first days as a new owner I was kind of nervous and questioned everything he did lol. I just got my first keet, Levi, mmm it'll be 3 weeks tomorrow. So it's still kinda new to me. I had come across this forum about a week before I got him. And thank God I did.It prepared me for the necessities I needed for when I finally got him. This forum is a GREAT place to learn lots of important stuff so if you did just get your 1st-cruise around here and read a bunch of different threads. The people here are super nice and very informative. If you have any questions just post them and someone usually knows the answer. smile So anyway enjoy you new keet!(if ya got one?) What's his/her name and do you know how old?

I had parakeets a few different times in my life but it had been A LOT of years since I'd had one. I got Aruba in April and our first days were a mixture of nervousness and excitement. Now I have 4 and I just LOVE it!!

My first days as a keet owner were stressful, lol. Mine were injured, and I wasn't expecting to have any new pets at all. Also, I was told they were cared for much like canaries, so when I found this site, and was told otherwise, I had to learn quickly, and invest some time and money in the little guys.

In the end though, it all worked out, and I made 2 new friends wink

Their names were picked easily...My son named one (sammi), and asked me to name the other. The radio was on in the car, and the dj's name was Josie.

My first days with Lucky went really well. He was eating in front of me the first day. He was so tiny he had to sit inside his food dish to eat! I've had him for 2 and a half years and everything been great! Good luck:)

When I first got mine, I wanted them out so bad. I lured them out with food in my hands, then they screamed and flew all over the house. I scared them half to death. Espesially Kirby! Finally getting them back in the cage, I started researching what to and not to do with parakeets.

No pics yet, they are scared when i enter the room...lol....a camera will have them flying everywhere. Its cool to hear about every1's experiences. My birds have a problem about not pooping in their own water...lol. My mom wont let them out the cage yet since the house is a bit out of order and the keets wont help. lol. Any tips on what i should do when i do finally let them out?
