With Wimbledon 2008 about to start, a few questions on tennis.

Do you play tennis?
Do you like watching tennis?
Do you watch Wimbledon? ~ Or do you prefer other championships?
Do / Did you play tennis at school?
How does tennis rate in comparison with other games?
Any other comments?

I will watch just about any sport that is showing the best of the game competing. If you get the opportunity to watch the best of anything you should.

I like tennis.

At my girls' senior school, we had a number of tennis courts, so played a lot in summer ~ not that I was any good!

We also used to watch Wimbledon in school, so I got quite into it.

Over the years, though, I have watched it less and less.

My son joined our local tennis club, when he was younger, and my daughter followed him for a brief while.

I went to watch a tournament in Edgbaston, the birthplace of lawn tennis, quite a few years ago, where I was pleased to lend Jaime Fillol a coin for the payphone. I enjoyed that day very much.

I have followed tennis off and on through the years-I watched alot during the Jimmy Connors/John McEnroe/Bjorn Borg years-loved watching Boris Becker and Martina Navratilova play-then it seemed to get to the point where it was all about "aces" which I suppose make for great tennis-but isn't very interesting to watch. My mum and I used to get up very early (in US) and eat our strawberries and cream and watch together. It doesn't seem the same watching without her--so I don't watch as much.

About 50 pounds ago I played tennis quite a bit (not well I am the original clutz)--so will would have 2 or 3 great shots--then relax and fall apart totally.
