I'm so glad my friends here take the time out to build a beautiful home for their own parakeets. And I have to say that I'm very proud of the setups each and everyone posts up! Thanks a lot, fellow Ayes! 0=]

Wow, that rope perch to your bed is sooooo long...I've not seen them that long...It's awesome! Do your keets use both cages or just the one? I love your set up....its very nice!

ya I know it's really long, that's why that was like basically the only place I could put it. I ordered it from petco.com at the same time as the cage and a few other toys. I was planning on just putting it from their old cage over to the door way of the actual cage they use now. but it kinda just flopped down when i tried that. I didn't know it was going to be that long so I was planning on returning it but somehow I didn't print out the right reciept thing and whatever so I just ended up keeping it and luckily was able to do something with it (put it from the cage to my bed).
Oh and they only use that other cage to walk around on and stuff they don't actually go in it. I have ashlynns old pink little cage inside of it so they cant really go in there even if they did want to. I have their other play gym on top of that cage so they also go on that cage to play with that stuff.

WOW long post haha

I like your cage WhitePegasus, is it hard to keep and tall cage as opposed to a long one. I liked the idea of the long cage like the one I have cuz I thought they'd have more room to like fly sideways and also not end up pooping on lower perches and stuff.
Is that a problem with yours, like the pooping on lower cage items?
haha well either way I'm def not gettin aNOTHER cage. and they are happy with their wonderland already haha

oh actually I have one more question about the tall cage. Do your keets go to the lower parts of it. Mine didn't like really going the lower parts of their old white cage. but maybe that's cuz my keets like to be difficult

See my problem is I am scared to put too many toys. One of my keets has an amputated foot and uses her beak and one foot to hold and perch.

She stays with the other keet in the same cage and it works out great. I am just scared to put to many toys at once. I switch different toys weekly.

What do you guys think. Should I try putting in more toys? She has been fine so far with the few toys.

I am not sure why her foot was amputated, I adopted her from Petsmart like that. I was going to buy a keet but when they told me about her and I saw her I felt sorry for her and now she is mine.
She has been with me for about 7 months now.

SO Jeanine you think a long cage works better? I am saving up to buy my keets a bigger and better cage. What do you recommend Jeanine or anybody?
