It doesn't pay much money wise...but there are definitely other rewards involved. It's really cool how you form friendships with the birds. They come to know you and are genuinely happy to see you, which is more than I can say for most jobs where you work with people!

Like Shack, he has picked up the way I talk and laugh and mimics me, people even say how he sounds like me when they come in to visit.

It's really fun smile

EVERYONEneeds to do a few days working with animals every once in a while...like working in a shelter a weekend here or there. It's really rewarding. You can't help but smile when you're playing with an animal!

Yes! I totally agree. That's why when the museum closed I was so depressed. Animals are so wonderful to work with. Even on the worst days I would go take one of the raptors outside and *poof* instant smile. Very rewarding.

I so want a partime job in a pet store but there is no way. I can't touch meal worms/crickets/ those ;long sluggy things that eat the tofu, sick or spiders or um scorpions. Other than that hmm there may be more things eww but i have not seen them.

I have never touched a gerbil, hamster, guinea pig, chinchilla or ferret, just a bunny but they don't bother me i could learn those ones.

Someone came in the other day and saw him. When I told him that Nancy had hand fed him, he said 'Why? When the parents aren't feeding it, you let it die.' This guy is a "reputable breeder", too! People are really cruel.
