Pudgie's mom: there are many varying degrees of allergies. I for example am allergic to anything with fur or feathers, but all animal dander does is make my eyes itch and water, and my nose run. However if i take an aspirin my throat closes up. Some ppl are like that with animal dander, they get near it and can't breath. I get allergy shots (i'm down to 3 shots a month) and take Clarinex. The allergy medications out now are really great!
Sokeez: My allergies don't stop me either! I own a cat, two parakeets and i horseback ride three times a week (i'm allergic to all four hehe).

good for you, white pegusus! im allergil to cats and strawberries, cats make my nose run and strawberries give me hives. i avoid both.

I'm allergic to my cats and birds too. I'm also allergic to a whole host of other things, including tons of foods.

I've found keeping Lemmy on bedding that collects the dander (I use Cell-Sorb Plus) and keeping 3 sides of his cage covered helps a lot.

As for the cats, a super premium food actually helps. As does wiping them down often.

There are lots of other things I could do too, that I don't.
