My birdie. Brad! for some reason has a rather small tail! he takes his long feathers out and his lil tail always looks wet and mess as if someone has tried to bit his lil tail off but only took the long feathers out.... but the rest of the feathers are there.... problem or not

no problem as long as he is not pulling them out himself.he might be placing his tailin water at some point in moving around the cage.I love your avatar.

thank you.... but yeah he does pull them out.. like the longest and biggest feather he'll pull just that one out so i guess he'll have a short tail

You have three birds, right?
If Brad is the odd man out, then he is probably lonely. There are lots of preening-types toys you could try to distract him with, and maybe you can give him extra TLC. You definitely want to try to stop this habit before it gets too thoroughly ingrained, and before he starts pulling out feathers all over himself.

It might also be that he is just at that age that he is molting. My Prettygirl (RIP) lost most of her tail feathers at the same time and as she was overweight anyway was she one funny looking pudgie budgie but within a month or so they all grew back. Now Sweetgirl is losing some of her long tail feathers. But try toys.

Do some research on feather plucking maybe the toys and some xtra tlc will stop it before it turns into a habit and he rips out all his feathers.
