i took the SATs in may, and found out my results today.
2250! (out of 2400)
critical reading 800 math 690 writing 760 (essay 10/12)
i'm super shocked at the 800 on the critical reading. i'm actually a very math/science oriented person, and so i'm also disappointed on the 690 i got in math.
it's strange though, on both of my PSATs and all my practice tests, i consistently do poorly on math, and it is my strongest subject!
so i'll be taking the SATs again in october, to bring up my math score and possibly my writing score.

Well done.
We don't have that sort of thing here ~ I sometimes wonder if it would be a good idea, though.
It's to show hidden potential, os something like that, isn't it??

actually, most of the people i know including myself have big problems with SATs and the whole college election process...that's not to say that that wasn't a great job, sue! but the entire system is designed to trick you and it doesn't really have anything to do with your intelligence, or hidden potential...but that's just my opinion

i think it's very culturally biased. and yes, the test makers do insist that the test is for the purpose of measuring intelligence, but the test is also designed to trick you. for an example, the math section actually has very little to do with math, which is probably why sue didn't do as well on the math as she'd thought she would (but that STILL an amazing score for your math, by the way). i guess you could say it's more of a measure of test-taking skills, since the whole thing is timed. but if you do some research, i think you'll find that a LOT of people have some real problems with the test and how its scored. and, honestly, it' really not important after a point--as i said, i don't even remember my cores and it was only a year ago jajaja

yep, i agree w/ everything LoRaXspeek4keets said. several colleges have already gotten rid of the SATs as part of their admissions process. it really fails to test intelligence. they also can't differentiate between people that - have a lot of money and were able to get lots of expensive SAT tutoring & people that - have very little money to spare and truly earned their score on their own many also argue that the ACT is a better measure of intelligence, but i forget what their argument/reasoning was for that. edit: oh, and thanks for all your nice comments! <3

Congratulations on your score. I never took the SAT. I guess because I didn't go to public school. I decided instead to take the ACT.
