Unfortunatly my male cat (altered) is doing the same thing, he is now confined to the basement which has all tile floor with his litter box down there for him. The kids spend a good deal of time down there as that is where the game systems are, and I do quite a bit of laundry per day so I am always up and down the stairs by him, so Spencer is still getting plenty of attention and loving. I discovered I need to keep his litter box CLEAN. I have to check it multiple times per day and right after he does his thing, I have to clean it or the next time he will use the floor. It's driving me nuts but it's the only option I have

that is the same with small animals if you don't keep their favorite "potty" corner clean they will start going everywhere

yes I've had other cats before Spencer, my female lived until the ripe old age of 22 one more month and she would of been 23 and I did not have to clean the box as soon as she went, once or twice a day was fine. I am thinking of looking into the automatic ones, but if the sound scares him I am back to square one again.

I got an autimatic one last year. It helped for maybe a month. Still, it was worth the money even though Scamper hardly ever uses it.

Sabbath is a beautiful little cat. Unfortunately some cat owners choose cats from shelters because of their coloring which is a shame.

I have to admit, I've always been a softy for the 'uglier' ones or should I say the more unloved looking ones. I have three at the moment which makes life interesting. My lap just doesn't quite spread to three at a time. Although they try.

Well, my mom's friend can't take him. One of the people in her house uses the barn as a garage and he's allergic to cats. She said if it wasn't for that she would take him. So I'm back to hoping that a change of scenery will help him. I was going to start volunteering at the animal shelter but I don't know if I will be able to knowing that he is there.
I made Sabbath's adoption official on my lunch break today. I get to pick her up at the vet's and bring her home on Wendsday.
