Okay, so after receiving info that the perches I had for my budgieboos weren't good for their feet, I decided to do an overhaul. First, I went to the pet shop twenty minutes away to see if they will cut Biskig's band off. There's a guy there that loves birds, has handled them a lot, and owns quite a few, and he's agreed to do it for me

. Anyway, they didn't have the supplies I needed there, so I ended up going to another pet store. They only had a few of the items I needed, and I decided at that point not to buy perches, but to make them. Said birdguy at previous pet shop said that wooden dowels and regular tree branches are really good. Anyway, I bought what I needed there, then went to LOWE'S. Oh that was fun...haha, but I bought my dowels, my handsaw, and some rope! Then, I stopped at ANOTHER pet store to buy new toys...and well...here's the loot:
Oh! Right, on my way back, I stopped at the grocery store and grabbed some fresh produce for them to restart the healthy budgie thing, because I haven't done that in too long and I want them to be healthy!
I also bought a bird gym. They seem to like it:
Snow decided to go for a little adventure:
But here we have the finished products!
I'm taking Biskig tomorrow to get the band cut off of his leg, which is why he's in the smaller cage with his buddy bird. I was told to separate him completely, but I think he needs his buddy bird because he looks so dejected all alone. I'm hoping that without the band, the other birds will accept him...*hopes*
But there you have it! Wooden perches, no plastic, and rope to play on with lots of playthings! They seem to really like the rope, and to be happier in general.
I'm excited!
