I've been waiting to do something like this for my birds since summer. They LOVE this branch (and I've got more I can clean up for them!).

Excuse the mess, we've been busy/sick and haven't had energy to clean. I had just given them millet today, and cleaned up after that. This is between my desk and my roomie's desk, it should give you a good idea of the set up. I even have a wooden swing they usually ignore, an egg biscuit tied to one spot, a bird necklace toy wrapped around one part (though I may move it to a different place) and that ball toy thing.

They haven't left this thing all day, and I spend most of my time here. They've behaved all day. If they keep this up and stop with the constant screetching, I may just keep the little jerks LOL

Oh yeah, the blue thing on the wall is my "dream board". Its stuff that I want out of life, and yes, that's my coffee maker/tea station back there. And yes, it IS a bad spot/coffee stand. I spilled water all over today

And yes, that is a big bottle of Pyrat rum. Arrr, mateys!

That's so cool! Ophelia has a manzantia perch in her cage, but it's the kind from the store. I never heard of manzantia before I got Ophelia. I dont think I've ever seen one. Where do you live that you can find them?

I live in Southern Oregon, and its all around our property where I live, and there's lots of other places where it grows wild. I think most people consider it a weed. And its a bush, not a tree. I always want to call it a tree

All the parts of the manzanita are safe, and you can actually use the leave as a sort of toothbrush :-p

Wow, that's rather spendy :-p

But there's other types of branches that are bird safe. Manzanita seems to be the best though.
