omg i love the infusion of different pastel colors which you can see most clearly on his / her back...WOW...

be sure this bird gets plenty of A & D vitamins tho into its diet and alot of good sunlight which usually means having to get a full spectrum light as windows done now a days let all the beneficial sunlight rays thru but instead BLOCK them...so being by a window is not enough anymore.

gawd the multi pastels is breath taking...try rotating this pic tho so we all are not standing on our heads trying to view it giggle

Looks like a boy to me! Jazz's cere began with a light purple and then deepened into a darker shade as he got older! laugh What a beautiful bird you have! I love the colors! AND SO FLUFFY and CUTE!

lol I know Zed is an off name. I would love something that describes him/her better, but Zed has become the stand-in name so far. He is still too young to tell gender, but has a very purple-pink cere, so we are going with male as of right now, although any name suggestions are welcome smile

Thanks to so many of you and this forum, I have gained so much more information about how to feed and care for him properly. He is almost completely hand trained for me; he is unsure of my fiance and son (when he is outside his cage) and I avoid working with him when they are around so he is more comfortable. He devours any sort of food offered, but seems to favor celery which I use when training with him.

I found a store nearby that sells Bob's Red Mill which we are going to pick up this week along with ordering a variety of spices from My Spice Sage smile and we made a special trip to a produce stand for some goodies. I found that offering him new foods is also a great way to get my son to try new things as he seems to get jealous when I offer them to "the bird" lol

Sorry for my rambling, but it's my way of saying thanks (and of course to brag a little bit) smile

not a problem to ramble but your comments like this should be in the open forum for all to garner info from and give too...and jessica...if you can tell that ...your far far better than i...i agree its too young to know yet...way to young to know yet...but i still cannot get over the infusion of how those pastels just blend all sooooooo smoothly into each other...like a kalidescope of colors smashing together lol...ive never seen a keet like this...

ever see whats sometimes known as SEAFOAM...its all these colors...and when it goes thru its first moult...OMG WOW...

and see this is why we shouldnt go on rambling in this section...GIGGLE...its CONTAGIOUS...

Thank you, I'm a bit partial to him myself lol smile He is just an assortment of colors. I think that's why it's so hard to pinpoint a name, he deserves a something soft and delicate (yet masculine if he is a he). There I go again...:)

Illusive, unfortunately that's my problem smirk Jeanne, I'm about 30 miles west of St. Louis, in O'Fallon. The only avian vet that I've found is in St. Louis, any recommendations?
