Did anyone see Animal Hoarding on Animal Planet this week? There was a woman with 250 lovebirds in her house that had free flight all over the house. Needless to say, it wasn't a good situation.

and the woman lived where giggle ...outside ...omg thats so bad.

another reason to be very very careful who you place birds with and where they come from getting as much history on both the birds and the people...obviously there is some serious health issues with these birds...

you cant be too careful...these will all be rescue birds too you can bet.

Oh my all those poor birds. I can't even imagine. Yep, definitely some health issues there to say the least. Sooo many homes needed. So sad frown

She was an attorney that took early retirement to tend to her birds. Her husband was at the breaking point and got her on the show. She ended up giving up 200 of the 250 lovebirds. Some of them had been picked on by the other birds and had lots of plucked feathers. She did take any of the sick birds to a vet though so that was good.

I remember the birds were not allowed in the kitchen and maybe their bedroom, but the rest of the house was available. It showed how they had to clean poop from *everywhere* in the house.

The show didn't go into the rescue part of the birds so have no idea where they went.

I would hate not having Animal Planet!
