I definitely agree that we should do our very best to help each newbie, because they don't realize that 10 people before the asked the same question smile To them, they are excited because they need help and have found somewhere to provide that help!

Also, we might sometimes give incorrect information because all of us are still learning. I am 40 years old and have had parakeets in my life all of those years - and even so science changes, technology changes and we realize new things as we go. So something I might have suggested 10 years ago, I now realize I should suggest something else. We all learn and grow, which is great!

I have always wanted to have canaries and finches, they are so pretty and "light". I have always opted for parakeets instead, for whatever reason. However, my boyfriend has started to show serious interest in a sun conure once all of our current parakeets pass away. I of course would love to keep getting more parakeets, but we will see how it goes. I just can't imagine a life without parakeets.

Illusive Fantasy -

You are a great member and I love reading your posts! I know it's challenging for all of us to talk with new pet owners, and to think about keets living in less than ideal conditions smile

You are so right, isn't it a little ironic that we all *love* birds but many of us are about to celebrate eating one? smile
