My daughter wakes up in the morning (before I homeschool her) and she just forgets about her water and goes to the TV, eats breakfast, goes on the computer, ect. And your brain is made of mostly 80% water, so I'm a little worried. I notice she only drinks water when she runs, eats, or she has too much heat. And she doesn't drink enough of it. Please post some helpful tips for her to drink her water, as I struggle everyday to get her to! I'll show her the posts made by you, if you could help. Thanks

Mattie, you are the mama. You are in charge. Make kool aid. Make some organic teas that have no caffeine. Make a rule and a schedule for drinking her water! Good luck.

Hi Mattie. I want to add something to my reply.
I do not know why, but sometimes I get where I HATE the taste of water, and I do not drink enough. So I try to keep bottled water on hand because I WILL drink that. Also, my daughter in law buys those vitamin waters for her kiddos. But the plain bottled water is cheaper and perhaps your daughter WILL drink those! Hope this helps.

The Vitamin Water flavored? Me and my daughter could drink those all the time, but unfortunately, they are filled with calories and other things that aren't healthy for you.
My daughter won't drink bottled water, (I heard on the news or commercial that 40-50% of bottled water is made of city tap? I'm not sure about that... That isn't right though if it's true!) tea, ect.
Thank you for the help though, Dawne

Some fruity herbal teas taste good, such as lemon zinger, red raspberry, check at your local store, Celestial Seasons has a wide variety and you can make up a pitcher and chill it. Also peppermint tea chilled is nice

I like a glass of ice water with a slice of fresh lemon. Give the lemon slice a squeeze in to the water and plop it in the glass. Adds a nice little zing, refreshing, and NO sugar!

Maybe you could try taking her shopping and she could pick a pitcher or container for 'her' water. You could put the amount you would like her to drink each day in 'her' pitcher. If you put that amount in each morning, then you and your daughter will be able to see how much she drinks each day. (I think something clear or see through would work better for this). Then maybe set up some reward system for her drinking her water everyday. You could also try setting a timer for throughout the day if it's just a matter of her getting busy and not thinking about it. Another suggestion is getting her a refillable drinking bottle or mug with a lid and straw. Fill it and put it within easy reach for her. (My grown son will drink the water if he has it there, otherwise he won't bother to go get it, lol) I don't know how old your daughter is and exactly how you handle this would depend a lot on that. But, it's certainly worth trying Everyone needs to drink lots of water.

I read on some of my sisters "fact" sheets from her doctors, that said unless you're outside in hot weather, a few drinks of water every hour is acceptable.
