I quoted what you said about it in your initial post. If not on the label, where did the maker say it was salmon pink?

"just not used to Brown Bottles." I thought "maker had put it in a green bottle"?

I went to maker’s website to download tasting notes; it was here I saw Salmon Pink, which started me on the road why use green bottle & wording on label.

It was green bottle, sorry for slip, have opened a few more corks since I first made posting also went to another tasting today, should not have switched computer on till rested, that is my excuse, see you around.

Ah, Cadillac. I can't remember the last time I saw one in the market. I remember "back in the day" - Cadillacs, Loupiacs, Monbaizillac, St Croix du Monts - all available for around $5.

last Monbaizillac I bought cost me $30.

Cannot say anything about the two others from the Bordeaux Region not tried.

Opened Christmas 2009 a 2006 Monbazillac, on my notes gave it a Eight Points ( I mark from 1 to 10 ), price paid would come in at around same as yours, that is taking yours to be a full bottle & not the half.

Brom -

It wouldn't have been much of an experiment if all we did is put the wine in the sun, drink it, and say it was skunked smile We used other bottles from the exact same set as a control smile

"Other bottles from the exact same set as a control."

perhaps you misread my post where I noted that on average we would get a skunked bottle in every six-pack of Knickerbocker. IOW, on average 5 beers from the "exact same set" were just fine.

Maybe it was just an unlucky/lucky pick. Did you taste the 'sun beer' bottle beforehand? IOW, tasted it, it was good - left it in sun, it went bad in 15 minutes.

I disagree that this (beer going bad after 15 minutes in the sun) will be found to be generally true with beer.

Dear Brom -

I would find it extremely odd that every time we ran the experiment that the skunked bottle would have been the one we left out - and all the other bottles were fine and were the ones we did not expose. After a while you have to start to draw some conclusions about the effect of the sun.

We didn't open any bottles beforehand, we didn't want to affect the experiment.

I am more than happy to try the experiment with other beer brands if you think one resists the sun! Which brand would you like us to try?
