Snopes and I strongly disagree when it comes to this topic. Was poison common or very uncommon in medieval days?

I don't recall having trouble with pop-up ads on Snopes. I use Firefox with Ad Blocker, so maybe that is the difference. Then again I don't visit Snopes very often.

I like your explanation better than Snopes, for what it is worth.
