Has anyone visited any of the Missouri wineries? I am a writer for an online mag examiner.com and I would love to hear about your experiences or any questions, or even ideas for upcoming articles.

Welcome Debbie! I did visit those wineries about 13 years ago but that was a long while back, I'm afraid I don't remember much of the trip. That is a classic wine region, I really should go back there!

Check out Fence Stile Vineyard and Winery just north of Kansas City Missouri in a city called Excelsior Springs. Great wine, people, FIRE PITS, PONDS...scenery in general! I took my wife there for our anniversary and only planned on staying two hours for a romantic sunset view and ended up staying around the fire until 1130! It was great! All of it! Plenty of wines to choose from and so very good company to enjoy it all with. smile

I'm new here also and hopefully this isn't too late to be of use. I live in central Missouri just south of the Missouri River. Along the river we have numerous wineries due to the way the land drains, pulling the cold air off the vineyards. I'm in an hour of the Baltimore Bend,Waverey, Mo, Bushwacker Bend,Glasgow, Mo, Les Bourgeois Vineyards, Rocheport, Mo. These are ones I have been to recently usually trying their sweet reds.

It's never too late to chime in, Huffy! Thanks for joining us! Yes Missouri is known for sweet reds, and those can be quite tasty.

I lived in St. Louis for a year. Missouri is a lovely state.
