"ovibiously knew nothing about"

Chilling a wine, even to the point where it is pretty darn cold, does not hurt it in the least.

Is this Beringer's Stone Cellars or Founder's Estate Cabernet? 'Cos I gotta tell ya, some people like them chilled.

(Not me. You can pull that Beaujolais out of the ice bucket too.)

The funny thing is, people will tell me 'Oh, you'll like it better chilled.' , AFTER I have said, 'I prefer it room temperature.'

(Not the best example since I don't really like it chilled or not)

Room temperature back in France in the Renaissance was pretty darn cold - they didn't serve their wines at 70F or 80F smile. Cold is generally fine!

If it's worth drinking, then it's probably best at room temperature. All chilling wine does is keep the volatile components from making a stink.
