Delaware Wine Information
Delaware is a white wine grape that was first propagated in Delaware, Ohio in 1849. This is a vitis labruscana grape that is mostly grown in the east coast US, as well as in Japan. It ripens early, which does well in these climates that have short growing seasons.
The delaware grape has only a slight foxiness when compared to other grapes in this class, and is used by many wineries in New England where growing conditions are rough.
