Sangria, or red wine punch with fruit, has a long history in many different cultures. Formal English parties would often feature a "claret punch" which was in essence this same mixture. Sangria is delightful in the summertime, but it's just as tasty during other times of year. Mix up some sangria, add your favorite fruits, and enjoy your afternoon!
To be traditional you'd use a Rioja wine - a red wine from Spain - but feel free to use whatever red wine is at hand.
1 bottle Rioja or other red wine
1 shot glass of lime juice
2 shots Bacardi rum
Random fruit and berries as desired
This is about as easy as it gets for Sangria. Customize your sangria recipe with things you like!
Mix all ingredients together and chill in the fridge overnight if possible, so the fruit flavors soak into the alcohol. The next morning, toss in some ice cubes and serve! If you'd rather not have ice cubes dilute your punch, you can always freeze some strawberries or peaches and use those as natural ice cubes.
To turn this into a single-glass sangria recipe, a typical assumption is that one 750ml bottle of wine yields four large glasses of wine. Divide all ingredients shown by four. If you're making just one glass worth you probably don't want to wait for the overnight soaking. If the mixture doesn't soak, you just won't get as much of the fruit / berry flavors permeating the sangria. It'll still be quite tasty.

Note: I created these sangria recipes and have had them online for years. If you find similar sangria recipes elsewhere, it's because someone copied my idea. I do appreciate it when visitors write in to warn me about the plagiarism - but usually there's not much I can do about it! What's really funny is when they copy my design right down to my sangria pitcher. That's a bit much :)
