I need some advice.
We will be going away in August, for 10 days. I am looking for someone who would be willing to come to my house everyday to clean cage, feed them and give them water. How many times a day should I ask them to come?
Any input will be welcome!

my sitter comes 2x a day. Early like around 7 and again at between 5-6. She stays about an hour each time (I have lots of pets) I clean the cages before I go and chop their vegs and cereal so all she has to do is feed them

Thanks Animom. I did have in mind twice a day AND I always trust your advice! We are actually going to be in FL for these 10 days!

mine are used to being covered at night and I would hate knowing they are sitting in the dark uncovered. I leave the TV on and have her make sure no cats are in the room and close the door before she leaves. I am lucky in the fact she has birds too as well as cats and dogs and is an adult. Where are you going in FL? it's raining here today.

I'm thinking of asking at pet store if I can put up a sign for bird sitting in hopes of finding another bird owner and we can sit for each other has anyone ever done something like that?

My name is Connie

Animom I will be in Boca Raton from Aug 19th to 29th. My husband and kids will be on vacation and I will have to work for a couple of days and then I am off! I will get back to you on how to get things organized with the sitter fo rthe birds as it is the 1st time I'm leaving them. I'm swamped with work this morning so can't stay on very long.
Pretty Bird that is a FABULOUS idea! I will check with my local pet store - you are a very bright, resourceful person!
